PB202: Power BI for Report Developers

PB202: Power BI for Reporting Developers

Duration: 12 hours

1)???? Power Pivot

Power Pivot is an Excel 2013 add-in you can use to perform powerful data analysis and create sophisticated data models. With Power Pivot, you can mash up large volumes of data from various sources, perform information analysis rapidly, and share insights easily.

In both Excel and in Power Pivot, you can create a Data Model, a collection of tables with relationships. The data model you see in a workbook in Excel is the same data model you see in the Power Pivot window. Any data you import into Excel is available in Power Pivot, and vice versa.

2)???? Power View

Power View is Microsoft’s new, visually-focused self-service BI (Business Intelligence) tool. Power Views can distill complex information into easy to understand graphics that are highly flexible, highly interactive, and highly engaging. Users can easily dig deeper into areas of interest, and even boring data can be made engaging. Power Views are available in three platforms, including Excel 2013, SharePoint 2013 Business Intelligence Site, and SharePoint Office 365 Site. Functionality varies depending upon the platform. This Power View course covers the Excel 2013 platform, and can be attended without attending any of our other PowerPivot courses. Topics covered include creating Power Views embedded in Excel workbooks, and using advanced Power View techniques.

3)???? Power Query

Microsoft Power Query for Excel provides an intuitive user interface for data discovery, data transformation and enrichment. With the Power BI for Office 365 edition, you can share and manage queries as well as search data within your organization. For more information about how to share queries, see Share Queries.

4)???? Power Map

Microsoft Power Map for Excel is a three-dimensional (3-D) data visualization tool that lets you look at information in new ways. A power map lets you discover insights you might not see in traditional two-dimensional (2-D) tables and charts.
